Middle School Parent testimonial

Published in Personal email message from a parent of a Middle School student from Averill Park. My son is a 7th grader at Averill Park this year. He LOVED the Engineering Ambassador visit. He was able to talk at length about oil spill cleanups and was also able to really process the ramifications of sending unneeded supplies during a disaster (perhaps in part because he was in the role where every time he needed supplies to survive, he ‘died’ instead. That makes it very real!) In any case, I thought you’d like to know how much he enjoyed the activities and how well he was able to recall and explain them, without any prompting from me. Thanks for sending the program out to Averill Park! on October 30, 2015

RPI Engineering Ambassadors inspire the Girls Scout Troop 1159 to become engineers

Published in Personal note from a dad, " A sincere "thank you" to you and students Tyler and Vincent. My 11 year old daughter had the good fortune of participating in your outreach program with her Girl Scout troop. By giving the girls a hands-on opportunity to create their own designs and see them come to life with the 3D printer, Vincent and Tyler opened her eyes to a world of possibilities. Our at home discussions have gone from "I am not very good at math" to "I am going to be an engineer and use a 3D printer to make prosthetics for kids". Your program has truly been inspirational. You and the RPI student volunteers have my heart-felt gratitude for making such a positive difference in lives of our children." on May 29, 2015
