Visit Website(RTX - formerly the United Technologies Corporation) has been the RPI Engineering Ambassador (EA) Premier Sponsor since the program's inception in 2011.
With this corporate partnership, RTX financially funds the program in exchange for the active promotion of their organization and access to potential EA undergraduates for employment opportunities.
Since this partnership was established, 80+ EAs have been employed at RTX/UTC for internships, Co-ops, and full-time employment.
Each year Stewarts Matching funds supports some aspect of the RPI Engineering Ambassador program. In 2016-2017 year, Stewarts has helped our program develop an afterschool STEM Club for a Charter school in South Troy, NY.

Dr. Sydell Perlmutter Gold was a pioneer for women in math and science, earning her Ph.D. in Theoretical Mathematics from the University of California, Berkley, in 1973 when she was already the mother of three. Gold was a senior system analyst in the Evaluation and Planning Division of the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory from 1974 to 1980, then joined the National Security Council staff as a technical appointee, serving under Presidents Carter and Reagan. Returning to Lawrence Livermore, she was a laboratory representative contributing to the Department of Defense/Department of Energy Long-Range Planning Study for the nuclear weapons stockpile, and in 1982, was appointed Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air force for Strategic Systems and Arms Control.
In the 1990s, Gold was senior vice president and deputy manager of SAIC's Advanced Technology & Analysis sector and in 2000 she was awarded the Women in Aerospace Outstanding Achievement Award for her contributions supporting women in aerospace. Many thanks to her husband, Dr. Ted Gold for considering

Visit WebsiteSantiago Paternain
Paternain is an Assistant Professor at the Electrical, Computer and Systems Engineering Department at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Prior to that, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Univerisity of Pennsylvania where he also received his Ph.D. in Electrical in Systems Engineering under the supervision of Alejandro Ribeiro.
His research interests lie at the intersection of machine learning and the control of dynamic systems.
Kristen Mills
Mills' research group hopes to resolve the contributions of cell- and tissue-scale mechanics and protein dysregulation in tumor initiation, growth, and metastasis. Their lab consists of an interdisciplinary team of mechanical, manufacturing, materials, and biomedical engineers as well as biophysicists and biologists. Together, they study the mechanical properties of soft biomaterials and tissues, which informs their engineering of in vitro three-dimensional matrix models. In particular, they use the models to investigate cell-matrix interactions and the biomechanics of tumor growth.
